New report: Protocol for the transportation of European oyster juveniles

European oyster juveniles can be transported between two damp towels in a cold Styrofoam container for up to four days with a survival rate of over 95%. Larger fry can be transported for at least 48 hours at room temperature without affecting survival, while smaller fry should be transported cold and for no longer than 48 hours.

The conclusions come from a new protocol developed by IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute in collaboration with Ostrea Aquaculture. The work has been funded by Blue Food.
