Kristina Bergman earns doctorate in technology
On 23 October, Kristina Bergman, a Blue Food doctoral student at KTH, defended her dissertation and can now use the title doctor of technology. In her dissertation , “Towards sustainable food systems – Broadening sustainability assessments by evaluating underexplored seafoods and marine biodiversity impacts,” she assessed the environmental impact of seafood products for which there is a lack of knowledge and examined how impacts on biodiversity can be better incorporated into life-cycle assessments of seafood and other foods.
During her dissertation defense, Kristina Bergman reflected, among other things, on the question of whether it is better to have an incomplete analytical tool or none at all, the distinction between extinction and collapse, and what ought to be listed on a product label for consumers.

While Kristina Bergman was waiting for the grading committee's decision, she took the opportunity to nail her dissertation, something she hadn't had time to do before then.
Warm congratulations to Kristina Bergman on her doctoral degree, and best of luck in her future research career.
