Research area 5: Wildlife resources and ecosystem improvement

The research area aims to increase the understanding and utilization of wild aquatic resources in Sweden. By assessing ecological consequences of commercial exploitation, exploring the commercialization potential of invasive species and improving ecosystem productivity through restorative aquaculture, the research area aims to create a sustainable use of wild resources.

The research area integrates local and national stakeholders, such as government agencies and fishing communities, to ensure that research is adapted to local needs and conditions. This promotes sustainable and responsible use of wild resources.
