September 22, 2021: "Seafood - The sea is the key to a sustainable future"

August 27, 2021 | Events | News

On September 22, you can hear Fredrik Gröndahl - coordinator for competence enhancement and asset management in Blå mat and researcher at KTH - talk about the center formation Blå mat, at a webinar organized by KTH together with Värmdö municipality.

"What is seafood? Can fishing and aquaculture be sustainable? Of the 240 000 tons of fish caught in Sweden each year, only 40% is used for food consumption. At the same time, Sweden imports three quarters of the food we eat from the sea.

The research center Blå mat - centrum för framtidens sjömat has the goal and purpose to explore new technologies and species to expand Swedish aquaculture. New circular and sustainable food production systems and seafood products will be developed."

  • Continue reading about the webinar on Värmdö municipality's website.
