
New article: "Exploring seafood choices at the point of purchase among a sample of Swedish consumers"
Sustainability labels face stiff competition from other visual cues in the grocery store, and even shoppers who are familiar with the labels don't necessarily look for them. This is one of the conclusions of a new scientific paper with Blue Food doctoral student Elena Costa as lead author.
The researchers also found that seafood choice - frequency and variety - is influenced by factors such as expected sensory experience, health claims and kitchen skills. The choice of seafood was significantly influenced by the media and other people, both before purchase and in store.
