Blue food exhibited during 'Fiskhamnens dag'
Fiskhamnens dag - Fish Harbour Day - in Gothenburg is an event with enormous appeal. Reliable sources claim that 20,000 visitors devoted the second Sunday in September to this year's edition of this seafood mecca. Among the oyster opening, fish auction and mussel feast, Blue Food met curious visitors.
The Blue Food exhibition featured roller banners describing the centre in general, young researchers' projects on co-cultivation in recirculating aquatic systems (RAS), the technology behind the RAS cultivation system as a 3D model, and roller banners on cultivation techniques for macroalgae, mussels, sea squirts and oysters. In addition, samples of seaweed crispbread, mussel butter and sea squirt spread were offered. Many of the visitors to Fiskhamnens dag went to the Blue Mat exhibition and talked to the researchers.
Blue Food shared a tent with Landsbygdsnätverket, Swemarc and the Swedish Aquaculture and Seafood Association.
