
New report: "A guide to small-scale and large-scale pond production of flat oysters(Ostrea edulis)"
Juveniles of the European oyster are in short supply, limiting production for food production and restoration projects. Producing juveniles in ponds is resource-efficient and provides higher genetic diversity compared to sea-based collection and hatcheries, but works differently depending on the pond size. A new protocol by Blue Food researchers at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute compiles methods for pond systems of different sizes.
