New report: "A guide to small-scale and large-scale pond production of flat oysters(Ostrea edulis)"

European oyster spat is in short supply, which limits production for food supply and restoration projects. Producing spat in ponds is resource-efficient and results in greater genetic diversity compared to marine-based collection and hatcheries, but its effectiveness varies depending on pond size. A new protocol by Blue Food —a researcher at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute—compiles methods for pond systems of various sizes.
