Fish farm for breeding rainbow trout and salmon fry in net cages. Concept aquaculture pisciculture

New article: “Fish processing side streams are promising ingredients in diets for rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) —Effects on growth physiology, appetite, and intestinal health”

Attempts to use by-products from fish processing as feed for farmed rainbow trout showed promising results. Trimmings from sprat and mackerel in tomato sauce yielded positive results, while a diet of pickled herring led to the fish eating less and growing more slowly, among other things. The first two feed options were promising alternatives as sources of marine protein and fat.
