Objectives

Using AI and digitalization tools for optimal management of aquaculture systems by:

  • Collection and analysis of relevant ocean data, through the life cycle, for an offshore aquaculture facility.
  • Development and validation of online sensors and maintenance of optimal water quality with automatic feedback control

Methodology

  • To develop and demonstrate a fully autonomous marine robotic system capable of long-term missions under realistic conditions.
  • To develop and implement a system that uses a combination of multivariate optimization and machine learning and prediction methods to determine optimal locations for crops given relevant constraints.
  • To develop and implement a system for monitoring, controlling and predicting
    1. Important parameters for the operation of an algae farm to ensure a stable environment, and
    2. Equipment for an installation

Expected results

  • To develop and implement a system that a) integrates the marine robotic system in mission 1 with the optimal placement system in mission 2 and b) integrates the marine robotic system in mission 1 with the operational system in mission 3.
